So just who am I anyway?

The internet knows me as Merekat4. I've had that screen name since the dawn of the internet. Well, as far back as 56K dial up AOL. To those that know me, my name is Vickie. I'll answer to almost anything you call me, just as long as you're polite about it. I am an only child in an artistic family. My grandmother was a painter and all around seamstress. My mother was a concert pianist, but preferred making costumes for the local ballet theater.

How long have you been sewing?

I started sewing when I was 5 years old. I will be turning 40 this year, so I have some experience in making a few things. I don't know everything and I'm self taught. I use methods and techniques that work for me.

What are you trying to accomplish?

I was told to share my experiences and techniques with others. The maker, crafting, and cosplay communities are about sharing the knowledge. It is the exchange of information that keeps these lesser known arts alive. Most importantly, I am here to have fun. I am doing this for myself. I am not blogging or streaming to gain fame or notoriety. I want to teach. I want to entertain. I want to share my knowledge with others. If I get a little bit of a following, GREAT! If I teach something, AWESOME! If I make someone smile, my work for the day is done.
